External Editor

FLOGVIT.culling integrates with your favorite image editors. Open any image in an external application with a single keystroke.

Quick Open

Press E to open the current image in your default external editor. The editor launches with the file path — FLOGVIT.culling stays open and you can continue culling.

Setting Up Editors

Configure your editors in Settings → External Editor.

Default Editor

Set the main editor used by the E shortcut. Browse to the application (e.g., Photoshop, Lightroom, Affinity Photo).

Per-Format Editors

Assign different editors to different file types:

| File Type | Example Editor | |-----------|---------------| | JPEG | Photoshop | | RAW (CR3, NEF, ARW, RAF) | Lightroom, Capture One | | TIFF / PSD | Photoshop | | DNG | Lightroom |

When you press E, FLOGVIT.culling opens the file in the editor assigned to that file type.

RAW+JPEG Behavior

When the current image is a RAW+JPEG pair, choose what happens on E:

  • Open RAW — Always send the RAW file
  • Open JPEG — Always send the JPEG
  • Ask — Prompt each time

Workflow

A typical edit-round-trip:

  1. Cull and rate your images in FLOGVIT.culling
  2. Filter to picks (Option+P)
  3. Press E to open in your editor
  4. Edit, save, and close
  5. Back in FLOGVIT.culling, the image updates if the file changed

Context Menu

Right-click any image and select Open in External Editor for the same functionality. The context menu also shows which editor is configured for that file type.
