Open settings with Cmd+,.
General
Color Labels
Customize the names of the 8 color labels. For example, rename "Red" to "Album" or "Blue" to "Blog". Label names appear in the sidebar and info bar.
Auto-Crop Padding
Set the default padding around subjects when using auto-crop. Higher values leave more space around the person. Adjust to match your preferred framing style.
Auto-Advance
Configure auto-advance behavior:
- Enable/disable for rating, flagging, and labeling separately
- When enabled, the app advances to the next image after setting a value
Performance
Memory Cache
Adjust the number of images kept in memory (LRU cache). Default: 50 images. Higher values use more RAM but provide faster navigation.
Prefetch
- Forward: Number of images to preload ahead (default: 10)
- Behind: Number of images to keep loaded behind (default: 3)
Disk Cache
Persistent cache for thumbnails and metadata:
- Size: 256 MB – 8 GB
- TTL: 7 – 365 days
- Thumbnails are cached as JPEG (240px, ~5KB each)
- Clear cache with the Clear Cache button
Display
Font Scale
Adjust UI font size from 80% to 150%. Changes apply immediately.
Filmstrip Position
Choose between:
- Bottom (default): Horizontal filmstrip below the image
- Left: Vertical filmstrip on the left side
Sorting
Default Sort Order
Set the initial sort order when opening a folder:
- Filename
- Date (EXIF capture time)
- Rating
- File type
- Sharpness
Default Sort Direction
Ascending or descending.
Keyboard Shortcuts
Customize all keyboard shortcuts. The list shows all bindable actions with their current key combo. Click to edit. Changes are saved to ~/.config/flogvit/keybindings.json.
Use Reset to Defaults to restore all shortcuts.
