Publishing to eventphotos

Publish an album to an event, where participants find and buy their pictures.

Publish an album to an event on eventphotos.flogvit.com, where participants find their pictures and can buy them.

Connect#

  1. On eventphotos, open Settings and copy your API token.
  2. In FLOGVIT.photosuite, open Settings → Connections, add an eventphotos connection, and enter the site and the token.

Publish an album#

Publishing works on an album bound to an event.

  1. Open Deliver → eventphotos Albums… and choose New album for an event…. Choose the event and name the album.
  2. Select the pictures and add them to the album (Add to album in the same window, or right-click → Publish to eventphotos…).
  3. That is all: the album keeps the event in sync by itself. What you add goes out once the album has stood still for twenty seconds; Sync Now sends at once. Untick Sync by itself to send only when you ask.

The app renders each picture itself — from the RAW, with your develop settings, crop and orientation — and uploads it, so eventphotos never decodes a file. A watermark is added to the preview if the event has one.

Each picture is tagged so people can find themselves:

  • its numbers (the number keywords Identify writes) and the names of the people in it;
  • each number's club from the start list, as a company. At a company relay, the event's page then lists every company with its own link to its people's pictures;
  • featured when the picture is in a Pick for Delivery album. Featured pictures are shown first on the event page and in the gallery a newspaper embeds.

With Leave a runner out of their gallery where they are soft ticked when the album is bound (Library → Publish to…), a runner read less than half as sharp as the sharpest person in a picture of several is not tagged with their number there, so the picture is not in their gallery. It needs Identify to have read the picture: the people and their sharpness come from its journal.

Keeping it up to date#

Edit a picture in the album and it is sent again by itself. Only pictures that changed — the file, crop, develop settings or orientation — are sent again; star ratings and labels do not count. A picture whose tags changed (a new number, or picked for delivery since) gets its tags again without being uploaded again. A picture you take out of the album is deleted from eventphotos, and one someone has bought is hidden instead; put it back and the same picture is shown again. Every ten minutes the event is read again, so a picture sold or deleted there in the meantime shows as such.

A picture someone has bought is never replaced. The album shows it as sold.
