For RAW files, FLOGVIT.photosuite extracts the embedded JPEG preview for instant display, then optionally loads the full RAW data. This gives you immediate image access without waiting for RAW decoding.

HEIC, HEIF and AVIF files are listed in a folder but not opened by the downloadable app.
Video Formats#
Videos sit in the folder with the pictures: rate, flag and label them as any picture. MP4, MOV, M4V, 3GP and AVCHD play in the viewer, and on Windows WMV and AVI too: press A (or the play button) to play and pause, drag along the bar to move, and turn the sound off and on beside it. Their thumbnails come from the system itself, macOS or Windows. The other formats show a thumbnail when ffmpeg is installed, and do not play.

RAW+JPEG Handling#
When your camera shoots both RAW and JPEG simultaneously, FLOGVIT.photosuite detects file pairs with the same base filename and can treat them as a single unit. Configure this behavior in Settings → General:
- Show both — Display RAW and JPEG as separate files
- Combine — Show one entry per pair; choose which to display (RAW or JPEG)
- Hide JPEG — Only show the RAW file
XMP Sidecar Files#
All metadata changes (ratings, flags, labels, crop, rotation, IPTC) are written to .xmp sidecar files. Original files are never modified. XMP sidecars are compatible with:
- Adobe Lightroom
- Capture One
- darktable
- Photo Mechanic
- Any software that reads XMP
For JPEG and DNG files, metadata can optionally be written directly into the file (configured in Settings → IPTC / XMP).
Audio Notes#
Images with companion audio files (.wav or .mp3 with the same base filename) show an audio icon. Press A to play or stop the audio note. Audio playback stops automatically when you navigate to another image.
